With Meeting attendances falling, and having seen the success of the Upper Ward "Monday Club", four of the local "Middle Ward" Lodges who meet on the same, or alternate Thursdays decided to start a "Thursday Club".
Brother Hunter Maxwell PM , one of the prime movers ( rumour has it that "Duracell" has been recharged ) states that the objective is to increase attendances, Brotherly love, and much needed revenue.
Lodges - St. Mary, Coltness No. 31 - Woodhall St. John's No. 305 - St. Andrew, Coatbridge No. 544 - & Livingstone St. Andrew No. 573, commissioned the splendid Plaque above, from Brother Alan Baker PM RWM Lodge Kirkton Hall No. 1614, as a symbol for the new venture.
The Club operates on a rotational basis, with one Lodge holding a Special Meeting on the Fifth Thursday of a month, another Lodge confers a Degree, with a third Lodge witnessing, and the fourth Lodge having the choice of also witnessing, or having a night off.
The scheme kicks off on Thursday 30th October 2008 with a Special meeting at 7:30pm at Lodge Woodhall St. John's No.305, when Lodge St. Andrew No. 544 will confer a Degree, with Lodge St. Mary No. 31 witnessing, together with Lodge Livingstone St. Andrew No. 573, ( First event everyone attends).
Further occasions will be announced.
